About the Item
An Italian carved-wood raised chest of two drawers from the 18th century. This antique cassettiera (chest of drawers) from Italy features a rectangular-shaped top, over a case which houses two full-sized drawers, and a decorative scalloped skirt along the front and two sides. This case piece is raised upon four cabriole style legs, giving it a nice space between the skirt and floor. The finish is mostly original; buttery cream/yellow with more darker/contrasting colors at top. The hardware is likely original too. Please note that there is some slight warping to the top (as can be seen in more detail in the additional images.) This antique Italian raised chest is a great country piece, which would be a beautiful addition to a bedroom, or perhaps in a kitchen or powder room, with decorative items atop and storage within.
