About the Item

Chest of drawers / commode hand-made in the Netherlands in the mid 1700s using oak. The chest is small, but very spacious, with working drawers and beautiful color and proportions. The front is bombay and the curvature is repeated on the angled corners, giving the piece a lot of depth. The chest has four inset drawers, all with the original hardware. The sides are made with flat panels nailed to the case and the top features two boards with serpentine ogee edges on three sides. The chest still sits on its original paw feet. Overall this is a beautiful and elegant piece of furniture, which is both elegant and practical as well as decorative. It will be a stylish addition to any room.
