18th Century French Louis XV/Transition Marquetry Gilt Bronze Commode An 18th century gilt bronze-mounted marquetry transition style commode with a moulded marble top above two long drawers, each veneered à deux faces and inlaid with geometric strapwork, with canted corners applied with gilt bronze mounts, with a shaped apron mounted with gilt bronze rocaille and foliage motif, on cabriole legs with gilt bronze sabots. Each drawer covered inside with rose colored fabric. Fine Louis XV/Transition period commode or chest of drawers with beautiful proportions and a fine and lively marquetry Marble plate and bronze mounts added later to give the commode a fresher look.
