About the Item
A late 18th century French Louis XVI Period marble top chiffonier, or gentleman's chest, made of solid walnut. Four dovetailed drawers with fabric lined interiors and original cast bronze ring pulls, locks but no key. Short turned tapered legs. Original gray and white marble top with rounded front corners. Nice proportions with rounded fluted front corners Good craftsmanship using pegged construction. Original marble top has a repaired crack. Circa 1780-1800.
