This magnificent German Baroque commode, crafted circa 1760, features a pinewood corpus veneered in walnut and walnut burl. The top displays an exceptional cube marquetry design framed by an intricate lattice pattern, exemplifying the artistic precision of mid-18th-century cabinetmaking. Its beautifully curved façade with three drawers is adorned with richly figured, book-matched walnut veneers and finely cast original brass fittings. The sides are symmetrically veneered, enhancing the natural depth and warmth of the wood grain. Resting on elegant bun feet, this commode has been expertly restored and hand-polished to a lustrous satin sheen while preserving its authentic character. A rare and distinguished piece, combining sculptural Baroque movement with the refined proportions of the Rococo period - perfect for both collectors and sophisticated interiors.
