About the Item

Neoclassical commode hand-made in central Italy in the late 1700s using cherry and decorated with thin satinwood inlaid banding. The commode is rated large in size and features three capacious and functional inset drawers. All drawers show beautiful, hand-made dovetail joints and the fronts are decorated with a thin inlaid satinwood band and inlaid escutcheons. The satinwood inlay is also present on the front corners, the legs, the sides and the top, giving the commode balance and elegance. The hardware was replaced with time and style appropriate brass hardware. Despite its very simple and straight lines this a gorgeous commode that packs elegance, style and beauty. The bleached cherry has beautiful grey and white striations that coupled with the shiny bleached satinwood provide the commode with a lot of depth and decoration. This is a commode that can be added in almost any room and not look out of place, but actually add style and character.
