About the Item
An Italian carved wood chest of drawers, with older painted finish, from the 18th century. This antique case from Italy has a rectangular-shaped top which overhangs the case beneath that houses three full-sized recessed panel drawers, each fitted with a pair of carved wood knob pulls with escutcheon keyhole at center. This piece is presented upon thick rail feet along each far side, which wrap into bracket carved feet at front, leaving an open space just under the front apron. This chest has an older finish in a pale blue/cyan color with lots of wonderful patina and show of aging throughout. This 18th century Italian chest is just filled with country charm and will make an attractive storage piece in a bedroom, living room, or entry foyer; perhaps topped with one of our fabulous mirrors!
