About the Item
Commode hand-crafted in Italy in the late 1700s using walnut and decorated with walnut burl and cross-banded veneer. The commode features three overlay large drawers that work very well and can be used on a daily basis. All drawers show beautiful, hand-made dovetail joints and gorgeous decorations obtained with the alternation of burl walnut veneer, thin fruitwood inlay and cross-banded walnut veneer around the edges. The tops and the sides are plain, and the chest sits on its original, hand-carved, tapered feet.
Overall this is a very simple, yet ornate chest of drawers. The straight lines give it an elegant, timeless look and the deep warm color provide it with depth. Regardless of where it is placed this gorgeous commode will be a functional and decorative piece of furniture that can be used for many years to come and will never get out of style.
