This impressive 18th century chest of drawers combines late Baroque and early Louis XVI characteristics and comes from West Germany. The piece shows a striking walnut veneer that was sawn thick and arranged in a vivid marquetry pattern, set on a spruce wood corpus with a solid walnut frame. The proportions are compact yet elegant, and the craftsmanship is visible in every detail, from the precise veneer layout to the original brass fittings and locks that have remained intact since the period. The drawer fronts display a warm, lively grain that shifts with the light, while the sides and top continue the same quality of veneer work. The back panel is scrubbed, following the historical method used in the 18th century. The commode has been fully restored while preserving its character, resulting in a piece that is ready for immediate use and visually impressive from every side.

- Condition:Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. The commode was structurally stabilized, glued where needed, and polished by hand.
