About the Item
A very fine Period French Louis XVI Commode signed T.C.
Oak and Walnut construction in the case and drawers. There are three upper drawers over two lower drawers. Heavy use of flowing parquetry inlay throughout the cabinet makes a stunning effect. The cabriolet feet are mounted with bronze sabots. The drawers are also adorned with bronze mounts and hardware. The pulls are lion and shell form. The top is stamp "T.C." in three places. The cabinet is topped with a white marble slab with a coved edge. All five drawers have working locks and there is one key.
This is an absolutely stunning period commode. Circa 1770-1779.
