About the Item
A pretty Anglo-Dutch scarlet japanned bombe form 18th century four drawer chest with a serpentine top. This lovely piece rests on gilt animal paw front feet. The top features a foliate central panel which is framed by a floral edge. The drawer fronts are decorated with elaborate outdoor garden scenes with figures and mountains. The sides are rendered in a similar fashion. This is a dramatic and artistically decorated piece of antique furniture. Japanned decoration of a later date.
