About the Item

Magnificent Baroque chest of drawers crafted in South Germany around the mid-18th century. The piece features a beautifully curved façade with walnut veneer in finely matched marquetry laid on solid spruce. The sides are made of solid walnut, showing the rich grain typical of the period. All locks and brass fittings are original and in working condition. The chest stands on its authentic feet and retains the original scrubbed back panel, a rare and charming detail. Expertly restored and hand-polished, this commode presents itself in excellent visual condition with an elegant, warm surface and outstanding craftsmanship. A rare example of genuine Baroque furniture that combines powerful design, balanced proportions, and noble materials – a timeless collector’s piece suitable for both classic and modern interiors.
