About the Item

This exquisite Biedermeier chest of drawers is a fine example of early 19th-century Austrian craftsmanship. Dating to around 1840, the piece features a harmonious design with clean lines and subtle elegance, characteristic of the Biedermeier period. Crafted from solid and veneered cherrywood, the chest has a warm, inviting tone. The top and front surfaces are veneered to highlight the natural beauty of the wood grain, while the sides and feet are solid cherrywood, providing structural integrity and durability. The interiors of the three spacious drawers are made from spruce, a traditional wood used for its lightness and strength. All locks and brass fittings are original and of high quality. The chest has been carefully restored and is in very good condition. The drawer runners were renewed during the restoration to ensure smooth functionality, and all drawers now glide effortlessly. A timeless piece that combines elegance with practicality—perfect for both period and modern interiors.
