About the Item

Remarkable 19th century nutwood commode, artfully handcrafted in the famous Biedermeier era in Austria around 1845. This great looking, compact shaped dresser - also called "trumeau" - shows a fantastic walnut veneered surface with an outstanding grain, radiantly hand-polished with honey-shellac. Supported by unimposing, short legs, its clean and straight design provides a large drawer and a two-door front which impresses with its so-called "Pretzel" design. Both are lockable with the still original locks from 1845 and adorned by wonderful brass key blades. An outstanding piece of 19th century Biedermeier furniture which fits perfect to many kind of interior designs due to its timeless appearance.This Biedermeier Trumeau/ commode comes in perfect restored condition.
