About the Item

Antique baroque chest of three drawers from Sweden, circa 1800's. The black painted finish has been lightly scraped exposing the natural wood beneath and highlighting the details of the casework. The slight contours of the top are repeated in each of the slightly curved drawer fronts, which are fitted with two brass pulls each. There is a unique slender desk top that pulls out above the upper drawer. Note interior of upper drawer is divided into sections. Once key included as decoration (locks do not function). Restored, strong, stable and ready for use. All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation (visible in drawer bottoms) are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this striking pine chest of drawers. Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition, and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting all impact how item is viewed.
