This truly exquisite, early Biedermeier cherry commode was made in Vienna circa 1825.
Viennese Biedermeier is distinguished by their sophisticated proportions, rare and refined design and excellent craftsmanship and continue to have a great influence on modern design.
Cherry Biedermeier pieces are very rare and account for only 10 % of all Biedermeier furniture made.
The beautiful and modern proportions of this piece of furniture are perfect example of how much influence Biedermeier has on modern design.
The commode have beautiful highly figured cherry veneer with lovely light amber color and 200 years old patina.
The brass hardware and locks are original.
