We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning French Empire, circa 1860 solid mahogany chest of drawers with marble top and gold leaf painted lion hairy paw feet
A very good looking well made and decorative piece of furniture. The timber patina is rich and looks good in any light, the marble top is a good colour and adds a sense of grandeur to the piece as was so common in fine French furniture
The lion hairy paw feet are gold leaf and painted and the handles are regency design lions heads
We have cleaned waxed and polished the desk from top to bottom, it has some light patina marks here and there based on honest age and fair use, the side panels have ripples in the veneer

This elegant fruitwood chest of drawers was crafted in France, circa 1860. The traditional commode sits on round columnar feet over a straight bottom plinth, and is embellished on both sides by carved round columns with decorative bronze rings at the neck and base.
