About the Item

Antique French commode in hand-veneered, book-matched walnut, with a mirrored, flame-like pattern across drawer fronts and chamfered front edges. The Rouge-Royal marble top has rounded front corners with rose and cream veining. The case consists of four graduated drawers, each with delicate keyhole escuthcheons and hand-cut dovetail joinery all resting on a solid plinth base - hallmarks of the Louis-Philippe period, circa 1840-1860.
