About the Item

Carlo X / Louis Philippe chest of drawers hand-made in Italy in the early 1800s using fruitwood and decorated with walnut book-matched veneer. The chest is very straight-lines and follows the typical canons of the style. The top had flat edges and rounded front corners, the sides are also flat. On the front the commode features four inset drawers, the top one is thinner than the other two and has a curved drawer front (as typical of the style). The other three drawers have flat fronts, all decorated with continuous book-matched walnut veneer, giving the chest a lot of decoration. The drawers all show beautiful, hand-made dovetail joints. Overall this is a gorgeous chest that will provide beautiful, elegant decoration to any room it is added, as well as functional storage. The bleached walnut burl veneer provides the chest with beautiful grey striations, making it a one-of-a-kind piece, that is both fun and elegant.
