About the Item

Chest of drawers hand-made in central Italy in the early 1800s using walnut. The chest is very simple and linear but is decorated with beautiful hand-painted geometrical patterns, giving it depth and a very fun and unique look. The chest features three inset drawers, with grey wood pulls. The chest sits on turned feet that may have been replaced at some point in the past. Overall this is a beautiful, colorful chest that will ass a lot of decoration to a room or home. Its light colors give it brightness and the dark-light highlights trick the eye in thinking the decoration is 3D, when it is really just a painted trompe l'oeil. The paint is not chalk paint, but done following traditional artisanal furniture painting methods that have been passed on for centuries in the IIalian and European botteghe artigianali. This chest is most definitely the piece that one chooses because they are looking for traditional lines, functional drawers coupled with a modern take and color. The chest will be perfect in a bedroom as well as a living room where windows can provide light to play along with the patterns and textures on the chest.
