About the Item

Neoclassical commode hand-crafted in the Lazio region of Italy in the early 1800/ using pine. The commode is very simple in lines, has beautiful color and character and an elegant country look; making it the perfect piece for a ranch home that needs an elegant antique as well as a more formal home that needs a warm, cozy piece. The chest of drawers features three inset drawers with large, hand-made dovetail joints and decorated on the front with hand-carved molding. All three drawers can be opened using the original keys as pulls. The top is made of two boards with ogee edges nailed to the case with square nails. The commode still sits on its hand-carved tapered feet Overall this is a beautiful, simple chest of drawers that packs elegance and style while still being practical and down-to-earth.
