About the Item
Ca. 1830-1840. A finely constructed classic American Empire chest of drawers with two upper short drawers with ribbed frames and tiger maple banding. The case with three graduated long drawers. All drawers with glass knob pulls, bone key escutcheons lacking the key. The front with tall scrolled supports and scrolled feet. Raised on turned back legs, all legs on casters. The sides with recessed panels,
Dimensions: 43" W x 21 1/2' D x 46" H
Condition: Please see the detail photos. Various signs of age and use include brass locks are missing on the top right and lower chest top drawers , chipping to the case edges, the top thin banded edge with some loosening and top with scratches, stains and ring marks. While some level of restoration may be desired, the Chest retains an admirable and strong Empire presentation.
