In this listing you will find a stunning Biedermeier Chest of Drawers. The chest is done in Populus Nigra wood, which has a stroking, burl-like grain which makes it stand out among other sleek pieces done in more subtle woods. The piece features beautiful bronze hardware. Made in Austria in the 1820s.
The chest of drawers is in a good antique condition, with visible signs of time and use, such as small cracks and chips. The chest is sturdy, the drawers are slightly hard to slide in, as they don't have the sliders, which is a common case with antique furniture.
