A fine quality antique French Louis XV style marble top
ormolu mounted tulipwood
kingwood bombe shape commode chest, circa 1900.
The serpentine shaped top having the original variegated green
rust brown marble, the chest having two deep drawers with gilt bronze rococo handles
lock-plates, the top edges of the commode having ormolu brackets. The commode is of bombe form with feathered walnut
tulip woods and inlaid with satinwood stringing to the drawers
sides, the chest is raised on cabriole legs joined with a shaped skirt
mounted with a gilt bronze applique, the feet having gilt bronze sabots.
The drawers are clean
run smooth
with ease, this elegant antique commode is in excellent condition and is ready to store your clothing, bedding and grace your home.
