A very fine antique French Louis-Philippe figured burl walnut
marble top commode, chest of drawers, circa 1840.
The commode is in excellent condition, it is made from the finest vibrantly grained walnut, to the top is the original black
white vein varigated marble. Below are four drawers each with the original gilt bronze escutcheons, which are cast as laurel wreaths, the original key is present. The drawers open
close with ease, they are clean
aroma free and offer lots of useful storage, the commode is raised on stepped bracket feet.
Condition is remarkable and all original, including the finish which has a warm mellow honey glow, no damage or condition issues, this very elegant antique French commode is ready to grace your space.

A good & substantial antique French Lyonnaise carved walnut Provincial three drawer commode chest, in the Regence style, Lyon, France, circa 1730.
The commode being of serpentine form and having three large drawers, each drawer is carved with Rococo scrolls and shell motifs, the drawers with gilt bronze handles and escutcheons. The commode is raised on short cabriole feet, as is common with these chests from Lyon, they are larger in size and have plenty of drawer space for storage. The drawers run smooth, clean and free from aroma and ready to store clothes or bedding, the chest is in good condition and is ready to grace your home.
