About the Item

Antique Italian Renaissance walnut marble top commode brings the splendor of the Renaissance Revival together with sumptuous walnut and elegant Italian black marble with gold veining to create a stunning combination! Somewhat larger in size than most commodes, it has a larger surface and more capacious storage ~ perfect for today's more efficient living spaces. Bold molded detail abounds from the perimeter of the marble top to the baseboard intricately carved with repeating foliate design, with the entire piece resting upon four crouching lions carved into the feet. The four finely molded drawers are fitted with carved wood pulls and are centered with rosettes around the keyholes, then flanked by corner pilasters lavished with foliates in relief below Doric capitals on each corner. There's even an heraldic crest at the top just underneath the exquisite black marble top. Truly timeless! Circa early 1900s Measures 41H x 55W x 23D.
