About the Item

Antique chest of drawers or commode from northern Sweden made in a classic straight gustavian shape from the late 1700s. The chest is a genuine Swedish antique made by hand in pine and is in untouched original condition . The chest has 6 drawers and the original paint. It's unusual as it has its original paint, a suit which after 250 years of use has an authentic patina and distress which results in a unique character. There is some smaller loss of material around the edges of the drawers. The chest has the original lock and key which are in working condition. Old historic hardware. The drawers are functional and the frame is healthy and solid.
