About the Item

A sculptural, blue-painted Danish Baroque chest of drawers with a distinctive breakfront silhouette. The three drawers follow the sweeping, architectural curves of the piece, and the pronounced profiled moldings beneath the top and between the drawers trace the form with exceptional elegance. The chest stands on its original bun feet at the front and block feet at the back, true to Danish craftsmanship of the early 18th century. It retains its brass hardware, original locks, and working key. The surface shows a beautifully aged patina, where the warm brown undertones gently emerge through the blue paint, lending the piece depth and character Denmark, circa 1730–1750.
