About the Item
Chest of drawers from the “Annabella” series, Mario Ceroli for Poltronova, Italy, 1972
A rare chest of drawers from the “Annabella” series, designed by Mario Ceroli for Poltronova in 1972. Made entirely of carved and shaped wood, this piece perfectly represents Ceroli's approach to design: a synthesis of art and functionality, where furniture becomes a sculpture to be lived in.
The masterfully crafted natural wood surfaces reveal the living, imperfect material, a distinctive feature of the artist's work. The aesthetic is typical of Ceroli, combining references to Italian craftsmanship with a contemporary and poetic language, evoking suggestions of both Arte Povera and Pop Art.
