About the Item

Elegant Danish baroque commode with serpentine front. Beautifully and originally veneered in thick, hand-cut walnut and walnut burl, arranged in framed panels. The top features a profiled and gilded edge; mouldings and profiles are likewise preserved with original gilding. Fitted with four drawers, each adorned with gilded mouldings, original brass mounts, locks, and key. The base is finished with a gilded apron and stands on elegant, gilded baroque legs. Denmark, circa 1730–1740.
