About the Item

Circa 1770-90 George III period bowfront tall chest of drawers, English. Mahogany with oak pine secondary. 2 short over 4 long drawers. Geometric ebony line inlaid drawer fronts. Oval brass floret centered pulls, the 3rd set. Pressed mark for Pratt Son, Guildford - an antiques dealer on the High Street, 1850-1889, who apparently sold this piece as an antique in the 19th century when it was around 100 years old (now approaching 250 years old!). 42" w., 20 5/8" d., 50.5" h.
