Commode after the Original Model from Jean Henri Riesener
in Transition Style
Lightly modified model after an original by Jean Henri Riesener
(1734 – 1806). Ebonized solid Beech. Rectangular corpus on Bronze caps ending feet. The middle drawer is engraved with a Merkury mask on sunrays and decorated with crossed branches. Bothsides flanked with oblique corner pilaster strips with decorative Bronze fittings. Corresponding sidewalls. Profile- framed, at the corners cranked Marble plates with grey-white grain. Decorative and bowed handles from gilded Bronze. The fittings are pronounced and of an exceptionally good quality.
