About the Item

A stunning and most decorative Continental 19th century burl Birchwood, ebonized Fruitwood, and ormolu commode. The three-drawer chest is raised by elegant block legs with fine mottled feet. Above the straight frieze are the three drawers each decorated with beautiful circular foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons and pulls flanked by striking ebonized Fruitwood columns with mottled ormolu top and bottom caps. The sides display one solid burl Birchwood panel while the exceptional veneered top showcases the stunning wood grain.
