About the Item

Crafted in France circa 1920, the vintage commode stands on cabriole legs, over a scalloped apron decorated with a center bronze shell and leaf motif mount. The petite fruit wood chest features three bombe drawers across the front embellished with inlaid floral motifs, and dressed with the original intricate bronze handles and matching escutcheons. Both serpentine sides also with marquetry and flower and foliage motifs, are embellished with ormolu mounts in each corner. The surface is dressed with the original shaped variegated beige and red marble top. The elegant Louis XV cabinet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patinated French polish finish. Versatile, this cabinet could be used as a nightstand bedside table, or place in a powder room to store small items. Measures: 29.75" W x 14.5" D x 33" H.
