A tall Empire chest of drawers, also known as a 'Chest on Chest,' composed of two pieces. This model is expertly crafted from solid, high-quality Cuba mahogany with original brass fittings. It features a simple yet elegant design with 8 drawers, all raised over shaped bracket-style legs. This unique piece was custom-made and is of exceptional quality. Furniture from the Danish West Indies is renowned for its solid mahogany construction, with drawer interiors and back panels typically made of oak or secondary mahogany. The chest has been carefully repolished and is in perfect condition. It originates from the Danish West Indies (sold to the USA in 1917, now known as the Virgin Islands), Empire, circa 1810.
