About the Item

A French Neoclassic style carved and painted wood chest of drawers from the 19th century. This antique chest from France has a rectangular shaped top, with case beneath which houses three small drawers above three full-sized and graduated drawers (for a total of 6 drawers). Each of the recessed panel drawers are dove-tailed and fitted with metal bail pulls. Each side of the chest is adorn with raised rectangular panels. This piece is presented upon four tapering squared legs that terminate into metal feet. The chest has a custom wash of taupe/wheat color with faint gold accents. This 19th century French commode, with its clean lines and soothing color, would be a great case piece for a bedroom, office or living room.

This antique commode from France houses three full-sized drawers, each beautifully embellished with petitely-carved bead and barrel trim and flower accents about decoratively-raised panels and a circular medallion at each center area, and fitted with Neoclassical hardware. The front side posts are fluted, with the flute-carving continuing down each front leg. There is a custom taupe finish with grey trim accents.
