About the Item

French 19th century inlaid chest of drawers with marble top circa 1880. We are pleased to offer this rare tallboy 8 drawer chest of drawers, which offers plenty of storage for such a small footprint. Stunning loose fitting original marble top with bull nosed edge.  Fitted with 8 equal sized drawers each with a different inlaid design of florals and birds set in various exotic woods.  Canted corners with ormolu mounts at the top, with strung and burr walnut border.  Each side with a dark walnut border and diamond shaped stringing.  All raised on a bracket foot base. Restoration to natural age split on sides, minor surface marks in line with age and use.  Beautiful piece of furniture and ready for everyday use.
