About the Item

A French three-drawer carved and painted wood bombé chest from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique commode from France has a shapely bombé designed body, with a fluidly, curvaceous form. The case houses three full-sized drawers, each decorated with cartouche style recessed panels and ring pull hardware flanking escutcheon at center. The chest has a beautifully scalloped skirt along three sides, and is presented upon four petite cabriole legs. The wood has been complimented with a very pale wash of taupe/beige with white accents highlighting the various trim. This late 18th century French chest, with its robust and curvy silhouette, will make a fabulous eye-catching case piece which could offer endless functionality throughout your home.
