About the Item

A very impressive and high quality French early 18th century Louis XV period walnut and rosewood Commode de Château. The chest is raised on slightly curved legs with a scrolled frieze and protruding curved corners. With two smaller drawers at the top and two wider ones below, all with patinated bronze keyhole escutcheons and handles. Each of the four drawers has scrolled panels with rosewood inlays. At each side are large scrolled panels with rosewood inlays. All below the Gris St. Anne marble top. All original rich patina throughout.
