A French painted wood, raised two-drawer chest from the 19th century. This antique chest from France features a slightly overhanging faux-marble painted top, with case beneath consisting of two stacked, dovetailed drawers, a nice carved skirt along three sides, and raised upon four curvy legs with exaggerated knees that project outwardly. The vintage paint is an ochre color with off white/gray. This antique commode from France features a rectangular-shaped top, whose edge slightly overhangs the case beneath, which houses a pair of vertically stacked drawers, and is raised nicely from the ground on a pair of outwardly facing shapely legs at front (which terminate into petite hoof style feet), and straight legs at rear. Elaborate rococo hardware with centered escutcheons adorn the drawer fronts. Recessed panels decorate the sides, and backside remains unfinished.
