About the Item
French Louis XVI period commode featuring exquisite geometric parquetry inlay and a richly veined demilune Breche marble top. Stamped "LB" in two places on the top under the marble. The Demilune design centers three drawers flanked by curved cabinet doors on either side, each decorated with intricate veneer work framed by crossbanding and delicate stringing. The case rests on four fluted tapering legs capped in brass sabots, with cast bronze pulls and escutcheons adding refined detail.
This Louis XVI commode makes a timeless statement whether used in a grand hallway, as a focal point in a living area, or as an elegant bedroom chest. Its warm wood tones, decorative marquetry and luxurious marble surface blend seamlessly with both classical and modern design schemes, offering historical character as well as functional storage.
