This is a handsome Louis XVI style petite commode, featuring bronze and porcelain mounts and a freeform marble top that sits perfectly above a bronze cast ribbon egg-and-dart style ribbon. The commode features four generous drawers each with hand painted porcelain mountings featuring cherubs, floral garlands, and pastoral scenes making this piece unique among Louis XVI style furniture. Decorative pilasters feature bronze mountings of acanthus leaves and give way to tapering legs with decorative bronze mountings at the top and capped feet at the bottom.
