About the Item

A handsome Italian 18th century Louis XVI period four drawer walnut chest. The chest is raised by square tapered legs below the straight frieze. At the center are three drawers, Sans Traverse, and one top drawer. Each drawer displays a dark walnut carved panel and richly chased brass keyhole escutcheons and pulls. At each side are carved supports with finely carved rosettes while the side panels have an elegant quarter veneered walnut. Above is the original white Carrara marble top. All original hardware.
