About the Item
A beautiful and incredibly decorative Italian 18th century Venetian hand painted polychrome chest of drawers. The two drawer chest is raised upon elegant cabriole legs with hoof feet, with unique and captivating hand painted townscapes to each drawer and the sides of the chest.
The remarkable scalloped shaped frieze and two drawers with elegant foliate motifs in green framing the scenes of bridges and archways set upon the sand background, each drawer with two circular iron handles.
The paint is beautifully time worn, and the top is of a faux marbled paint effect, a visually stunning set of antique Venetian Drawers.
One of the original backboards has been replaced.
