About the Item
An Italian bleached and painted wood raised chest of two drawers from the 19th century. This antique cassettiera (chest of drawers) from Italy features a painted and rectangular-shaped top, over a case which houses two full-sized drawers, designed in clean, minimalist lines. This case piece is raised upon four squared legs which gently taper towards their feet. The drawer fronts are fitted with brass hardware consisting of a pair of lion's head pulls flanking a shield-shaped scutcheon at their center. The wood has a bleached finish with custom grey coloring about the top and various trim. This antique Italian raised chest would be a beautiful addition to a bedroom, or perhaps in a living area with decorative items atop and storage within.
