About the Item

An elegant and most decorative Italian 19th century Louis XVI st. Kingwood, Tulipwood, Ormolu and Sienna marble commode. This stunning three drawer chest is raised on four square tapered legs finished with wrap around Ormolu sabots. Each leg is inlaid with a twisted ribbon designs all below vertical columns with inlays simulating flutes. The three drawers are decorated in the same manner with two quarter veneered panels displaying central circular Ormolu pulls. The panels flank a central panel with a marquetry urn filled with flowers. All three panels are surrounded by a double twisted ribbon inlaid border. At the top lays its original rectangular Sienna marble top.
