About the Item

A high quality and very attractive Italian 19th century Milanese st. Ebony and bone commode. The eight drawer commode is raised by a straight frieze above a bull nose support flanked by fluted columns with lower bone inlays of winged birds over foliate scrolls and a top crest with an etched female mask. The eight individual drawers are decorated in the same manner with Ebony pulls and bone inlays of a central keyhole flanked by two winged birds amidst intricately detailed foliate scrolls and ivy vines. The sides of the chest display wonderful bone borders, while above lays the black marble top.
