About the Item

An Italian wood chest of three drawers from the mid-18th century. This antique chest from Italy has a rectangular-shaped top with molded edging that slightly overhangs the case below, which houses three full-sized drawers. Each drawer front is adorned with a beautiful inlay in scrolling foliate and bird motif and is fitted with the original iron pulls and escutcheon keyhole at center. The skirting is a straight/linear molding, and piece is presented upon carved bulb-style feet. The wood has an attractive old patina throughout (and there is evidence of prior repairs throughout the years); a lovely reflection of its centuries old history and use. This Italian chest of drawers, circa 1750's would make a wonderful case-piece for your display and storage needs within a bedroom or living area.
