About the Item
This is a charming early 19th century Italian Neo-classical chest of drawers.
The chest's conformation is two short drawers over two long drawers raised on tall legs. It is veneered in a fruitwood with line inlay highlighting its form. Each drawer features an ebony inlay outlining the drawer. The chest retains its original brass hardware. The chest is in very good sturdy form; we have restored veneer to several small areas-principally the lower front edge of the chest. This is a wonderfully proportioned chest--allowing it to adapt to multiple spaces--from a generous bedside table to living room to an entry way.

- Condition:Replacements made: We have restored several areas of veneer, principally the front lower edge of the chest. All other elements appear to be original with natural anticipated patina. Wear consistent with age and use. We have applied several coats of hard paste wax and have elected not to refinish the chest as the deep natural patina adds charm and authenticity.
