This is an old Japanese chest of drawers, handcrafted during the Meiji period (1860s–1900s).
It is a fine example of traditional Japanese craftsmanship from that era. The body is made of sugi (Japanese cedar), known for its lightness and warmth, while the handles are made of iron.
Featuring two large drawers, this chest is distinguished by its remarkably simple design, free from any unnecessary ornamentation.
